Faraday at the Greenbelt Festival
The Faraday team were at the Greenbelt Christian Arts festival over the August bank holiday weekend. They were part of a new venue, the telescope venue, shared with others who have an interest in Science and Religion and organised through the festival by members of the Faraday staff. Over the weekend the festival saw about 12,000 people attending events at Boughton House near Kettering. The Faraday contribution was an open house event organised by the Faraday Schools team. Children were invited to participate in a range of activities including preparing edible DNA, previewing the new school’s virtual reality film, handling fossils and making moulds of their shapes. This event inevitably also attracted parents who along with other adults were able to attend seminar sessions on Genome Editing (Alexander Massmann), God and Disasters (Roger Abbott) and a public lecture on the theme of genetic determinism (Denis Alexander).
